Quick Post

I'll post more later about my weekend, but I wanted to put up this link!

I helped my friend Abbey with a photoshoot she did this weekend for some of our friends that were in town with their new baby, Jay! I really just came along so I could meet the little guy. He's adorable. Anyways, check out the pictures...too cute :)

Wedding in a Flood

So the Mighty Mississippi decided to Flood in St. Paul. And what's that you hear? Yes, I have a wedding at the Boat Club next Friday, the Boat Club which lies on an Island ON the Mississippi. Not looking so good. I also leave for Mexico that day. Was hoping I could leave happy and not having any worries, now I'm a little worried. At 17 feet the roads close down, we're at 17 feet. At 19 feel the Boat Club floods, we're supposed to be there Wednesday. Oh No, not looking good.

I'm just not quite sure how I'm going to make that phone call on Monday to tell the bride, her wedding wont' be taking place at the Boat Club as it will be under water!

On another note, I went to the doctor today, my immune system decided to fail me again this month, next thing you know I have a walking pneumonia and sinus infection. Gotta love this winter/spring crossover!

Monday

It's Monday morning, and even though I usually hate Mondays, I really dislike this one.

I'm sick again with another cold, or I just never got over the other one. I think I felt totally normal for about 3 days and then last night, it hit me again like a ton of bricks. So I'm laying in bed right now (with the windows open for some fresh air, yes, it's beautiful out), typing this blog post. I decided to take the day off and try and get as much rest as I could so hopefully this will end SOON!

Man, this is quite the year for colds. This one I have now had for about 5 weeks :(

Other than being sick, the weekend was great! Did some yoga with some girlfriends on Friday and then had dinner with them. Then on Saturday met up with my friend Jackie to catch up and to chat about her having a baby! My sister and I then went to the movie "Remember Me", good movie, but it has a big twist at the end that you don't see coming, which I didn't like very much. Then yesterday out to dinner for mom's birthday and then got sick. So I'm hoping this gets better quickly so i don't feel like crap in Mexico!

Have a good Monday

Feel the Burn

If I didn't undestand the phrase "feel the burn" before, I definitely understand it now. After work I headed to the gym for a Spin class with my friend Robyn. I've done them in the past, but not for a few years. Seriously, they are such an intense workout, not to mention your sore butt afterwards. I don't quite understand the joy in bike riding, it's not comfortable.

Anyways, it's not even tomorrow yet and I'm already so sore. It's an hour of up and down constant biking, while most of it you're not even sitting down for!

Then Robyn talked me into a couple sets of weights and another hour long Vinysa 2 Yoga class. Funny enough we had the same instructor for both classes, the big, very muscley guy, someone you wouldn't picture as a yoga instructor, but he was very good. Great way to end a work out, however, I know I am gonna feel it in the morning!

Off topic and very random, my gas light came on as I was leaving the gym tonight so I stopped off to get some gas before I ran out on the highway. I get out and start pumping the gas into my car when I look over and the guy next to me is smoking a cigarette and talking on the phone while he pumps his gas. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say ya probably aren't supposed to talk on the phone while you pump gas, let a lone smoke. Fire and gasoline, don't really mix. What an idiot, all I know is I wanted to high tail it out of there, before I ended up on the news, explaining why a gas station caught fire.

Birthday!

Today is Tucker's birthday, he is 1 year old today!

The weekend was pretty relaxing. Abbey and I went to yoga on Friday and then went out for a super yummy mexican dinner. Yoga was a little tough, since I hadn't done it in a few weeks and am still getting over this bronchitus I have. I was just praying I wouldn't have a coughing fit in the middle of meditating! haha.

Saturday I worked most of the day on a slide show I'm making for my sister's graduation party, that stuff takes forever!

Today was a chill out day, got up and took Tuck on a nice long walk, such a beautiful day out. I'm paying for it now though, because my knee just aches. I think I may have twisted it on the walk. Parts of the path were kind of icey, so it wasn't easy. I better get over that since I am running a 7K in 2 weeks. I hope I live past March 20th :)

Royals Win!!!

Just got back from my sister's game and they won! They're now on to the Section Final game on Thursday and hopefully, then on their way to state. It was a crazy game, went into 3 over times and finally they pulled off the win! Exciting!

Next game on Thursday!

Men

Yes, you guessed it, this is going to be a bit of a rant (or maybe just a few life lessons I've learned).

You know that book that came out years ago "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus". Wow, so true. Seriously, I never believed it until these last few years. The make of a man's brain is 110% different than womens. And these aren't just observations I've made from my own love life, my friends around me have the same problems.

The whole not calling or getting back to you game? Why not, if you like a girl and want to see her, stop playing games and just call. Dating games are rediculous and might just make the girl lose interest. Commitment phobics, seriously, just grow up. What is wrong with a little monogomy? Sew your oats when you're younger, then find someone you love. Do you really want to one day be 80 years old and realize you're all alone and you never really loved someone? All the money and the success in the world can't make up for that day....

Maybe I'm just a bit bitter from the last few years of failed attempts at relationships. And I'll admit, I'm sometimes at fault, but recently, not me!

I do have a funny story, so about 2 months ago I went on a date with a guy, we'll call him, well we'll call him by his real name, Colin. We had been talking on eharmony for a while (which by the way I quit that site as well as match, decided to just give up on men for a while), we meet at a coffee shop, (I posted about this guy earlier so refer to that date). Well the date goes ok, and we email back and forth saying we'd like to meet up again. A few days turns into a week and then another one and he we set a date to go, then he e-mails me the day before and says he got invited to go skiing that day, but he's not sure he'll go so he'll let me know THAT DAY if he decides not to go and see if I'm still free. Sorry man, I'm not free anymore, I just became busy. I'm not sitting around waiting for that call. Anyways, we don't talk after that for a good month. I write him off, thinking he's not intersted. Then a week or so ago, while I'm in a meeting at 8 o'clock on a Wednesday night, I get a text from him, randomly saying "I'm so glad it's almost Friday, how are you??". Really?!? A month later. To this I reply "I'm sorry, but who is this?". He writes back "Really?? This is Colin". I'm sorry to burst your ego, but you didn't talk to me for a month, am I supposed to know you. You weren't that good of a date.

And so, this is how my love life continues.....this is so why dogs are better than boyfriends (or maybe men just are dogs??). haha.

Have a good Thursday everyone! It's almost the weekend, and I actually get both weekend days off this weekend!!!
