All Dogs Go to Heaven

It's been a hard day today, Shasta went to heaven :( To make it even more hard, I'm in New York this week for work and wasn't expecting it to happen this week. She's almost 14 so she was an old girl. They think on Wednesday morning she had a stroke, because she woke up panting, started throwing up and then was unable to stand. My mom and dad took her to the vet and gave her a few shots to see if she got better. If not, it was decided we would put her down because she had no quality of life. When she didn't improve they decided to take her in today. She couldn't stand and could barely move her head. So at 9am today, they took her and we let her go. Now she's running free and not in any pain anymore.

Probably one of the hardest things in the world when you own a pet is to let them go, I guess like anyone. But they're always so loyal and loving, no matter what that tail always wagged when I came home. Since I was 13, when we got her, she was just a little fur ball of love and compassion. Such a good dog she was, losing a family member is always hard! Since I've been in New York since tuesday, my parents have been keeping Tuck. Hopefully that doesn't make it worse, but I guess he's been a really good boy. He sensed something was wrong and has been laying by Shasta. I wonder if maybe, they could talk to each other, and Shasta told him to "take care of her family for her". That's what I'm going to think, that she knew how bad she was and now it was Tuck's time to take over. I just wish I had both pups here to snuggle with me, kinda hard being in a hotel room all by yourself when things like this happen. Can't wait to get home! It's been hard getting all the texts about her while I'm sitting here with all of our customers, trying as hard as possible to not cry and break down. I was able to skype last night with my mom and see Shasta one last time and be able to say my goodbye's to her. Nic gave her a kiss for me, so it was like I was there to say goodbye. Maybe it was a blessing it happened out here, would have made it 10 times worse to probably be there.

Shasta may be gone now, but the place in our family never will be, she will be missed! Love you Shep have a fun running around in Heaven chasing all those balls and bunnies and chewing all the rawhide bones you can, I'll see you again one day!

November..yikes!

Yikes, the days seem to just be flying by! Soon it will be Thanksgiving and then Christmas. And soon dun dun dun....my birthday. Another year older. Boo. I need to stop time, it seems like I went from my early twenties, to mid twenties to now I guess I'm considered my late 20's in a matter of days.

Well I'm sure some of you remember this face....

My old Iowa State college roommate from freshman year, Miss Katie Higgins! Yes, she got married the last weekend in October and Adam and I made the treck down to Omaha for the wedding. It was a long drive, but worth it! I hadn't seen her in alosmt 2 years. 2 years too long I might add, so it was sooooo good to see her! Even though, I didn't get to see her that much, with her being the center of attention and all...really, I can't imagine why anyone would want to talk to the Bride?!? :) Anyways, she was so very thankful that we were able to drive down there to celebrate with them. We may not see each other much or talk as much as we should, but it doesn't mean we're not just as good of friends as the day I met her, and I really miss her. Even back to that first day in college, when you click with someone that easily and have such similar personalities you just know you're gonna be friends forever!

So here's to the beautiful bride and her new husband, all the blessings in the world! Love you!

Are you ready for some football!!!!

It was the Packer vs. Viking game this weekend at the Dome.

The crowds were cheering and the rivalry between us was in full force! With Ponder as our starting quarterback we were looking pretty good, but the Packers pulled off the win. Watch out though, I have a feeling the Vikings will be looking good in the next few years. Ahh to actually watch a team that came out to play this last Sunday, it was great! Such a fun game to be at!!

Until next time....maybe the purple and gold will pull off the win next time!

Cape Cod Vacation

It's been a busy few weeks, with a lot of work then we got a nice vacation and we were able to get away to Cape Cod with Abbey, Justin and Lucy! It was so relaxing and wonderful.

One of the days we took a 2 hour ferry ride out to the island of Nantucket, it was gorgeous out there. All the quit homes that look the same, and then there are huge mansions that sit on bluffs. We walked around and looked at the town and we also took a tour of the city. The lighthouses and scenery were gorgeous! Crazy to think people live there year round.

The sun sets in Cape Cod are gorgeous, we were lucky to find a few different beaches we could walk along and see the sunsets.

Adam and I were able to walk along the beaches.
One of the days we went to Provincetown, it's a small town at the very tip of the Cape. Some of the pictures we got were gorgeous.

Lucy was such a good baby the whole time we were there. She's such a cutie, I just couldn't get enough of her :)

One of the days we went to the town of Chathum and walked around and looked at the shops, the beaches and the fish market. So much fresh seafood, it was great! I love being able to get fresh seafood when you're on the coasts.

Best friends :) I'm so glad we were able to take a trip with them, we'll have to make it a yearly thing. Funny how every time we go on a trip together people think we look like sisters, cuz I just don't see it!

It was a great trip and so needed! Now it's back to the grind, getting stuff done. Next few months are going to be busy with birthdays and holidays!

Allergies

My poor baby Tucker has such bad allergies, basically since he was born. And it's just so hard to pin point what it is. We did a food trial for 3 months and he seemed to do ok and then 2 weeks ago his ears flared up and got super red and he got a rash on his belly and all he could do was itch. So I gave him benadryl (instead of dragging him back to the vet and them saying the same thing and spending an arm and a leg). Well it got so bad he had itched so much this morning his poor ears were bleeding, so I called a veta nd took him in. Maybe it's seasonal allergies and after we have a frost it will go away. But it never does. So he was given prednizone for 3 weeks. I just hope after those 3 weeks he's better. I'm kind of at my wits end and don't know what else to do. :(

India

Well Adam's off to India for 2 1/2 weeks so I recently have found myself living the single life....with 2 children (aka dogs). It's funny because my roommate calls the dogs my children. So for the next 2 1/2 weeks it's just me and the boys. Oh whatever will I do. So far I've been very productive, took them to the dog park, made me some dinner, cleaned, and that was all in 2hours. I have some dates with some friends, and it will be nice to just kind of relax and enjoy the fall weather. He's in New Dehli right now, he left on Monday. Kind of hard because his morning is my night and vice versa. I think we've figured out that if he skypes me at 8am, it's 10pm my time...pretty much the only time we can talk. He said the work day over there is from 10am-6pm so he has a few hours when he wakes up and before I go to bed we can chat. It's crazy with technology, he's halfway across the world and I was seeing him and talking to him last night, got a nice tour of his hotel room and everything!

Last weekend we went to a wedding of one of his friends in Eau Claire....I think the highlight of his weekend is below. A guy who works for the Packers was there and wearing his super bowl ring he got, so Adam asked if he could try it on. Seriously a kid in a candy shop...never seen him smile so big. He should have been since that ring cost $56,000! You think he'll think to spend that much on my engagement ring one day??? hehe...not even close! We had fun though.

Adam gets back on a Wednesday and he's running another Marathon on that Sunday...not sure how his body is going to like him after all that travel and running 26.2 miles. Then just a few short days after that we're off to Cape Cod for a nice long weekend with Abbey Justin and Lucy....I'm looking forward to it, it's going to be so much fun!!!

Labor Day Weekend

Wow, 2 posts in one week, I must have gone crazy! Or just have had more time....thankfully!

It was a busy week and I'm gearing up for a busy Fall! The weather this weekend, was a great change and made me so excited for fall. I love the fall weather, the only bummer is that Winter then is not far behind, and we all know how unbearable winters in Minnesota can be. But for now, I'll enjoy the weather and look forward to the break this weather brings. I'm excited for apple orchards, pumpkin carving, apple crisp baking, going for runs and not sweating to death!

This was a fun weekend, Friday night Abbey, Justin and little Lucy came over. I made a vodka sauce Lasagna and Abs made the salad. Then we topped it off with some home made hot fudge Sundays...all I can say is Y-U-M-M-Y! It was fun to just relax and chat, and start planning our upcoming trip to Cape Cod with them in October. Saturday, Adam went and golfed with one of our friends. They were going to play 18 holes and on about the 12th hole I get a text from him asking if we can re schedule our "date" for that night (we were going to see the movie The Help), I really didnt' care so I told him we could. He wanted to play another 9 holes, so he played 27 in total...that man loves to golf! While he was golfing with our friend Ryan, I took the doggies to the dog park with my friend Robyn (who happens to be Ryan's girlfriend). So while the boys were off golfing, we had fun with the pups. They ran, swam and fetched to their hearts content. We then went to a cute little outdoor restaurant near the park and had some lunch. A beer and fresh seafood...couldn't ask for a much better Saturday afternoon! And Robyn really wanted to see the Help, so I told Adam he was off the hook (it was chick flick anyways he was only going to because I wanted to see it), so we went to that that night. Adam had to run 20 miles that night for his training for the marathon he's running in October, so while he did that I went to the movie, then picked him up after his run!

Sunday we went to Valley fair with my mom, sister and brother. It was a lot of fun, I swear I reverte to being 10 years old again when I go there. I just love roller coasters and all rides. I hope that never changes! We were super tired when we got home so we chilled out and had a movie marathon with some popcorn and milk duds :)

And then today...we went to the Minnesota State Fair. All I ever really want to go there for is the food, so we went for about 3 hours, had some cheese curds, deep fried apple pie, pronto pup, cheese fries, apple sider freezie, and sweet martha's cookies...so good and so full (we split everything so we could have a taste of it all)! Now that I weigh 10 more pounds from the weekend, it's off for a run, grocery store shopping for the week and relaxing before work tomorrow. Adam leaves next Monday to Inda for 3 weeks so hopefully we can spend some time together this week (as I type this he's doing his fantasy football draft....so i've lost him to football for about 5 hours). Hope your labor days we're all great! Next post I'll have pictures!

And another month goes by!

It's been a busy month! I just got back from spending a week in San Francisco for work. Had an event out there and spent most of the time doing that at The W Hotel in downtown San Francisco. One of the night events was taking all of our customers to the giants game and then on a boat cruise around the bay. That was a lot of fun. Alot colder city that I imagined, so I didn't exactly pack right. When the fog rolls in it gets really cold and it happens to be most of the time there! Below is a picture of the bay bridge, we saw on our boat cruise.

Giants Game

Last weekend we drove to Adam's parents house in Onalaska, WI for a visit. We brought both of the dogs and on Sunday made the treck to White Water state park to do some hiking with his aunt and uncle and cousin that was in town from North Carolina. It was a lot of fun, and I know the dogs had a blast hiking through the woods and climbing up bluffs! Very pretty over by the river.

Adam and I with his parents at the top of a bluff.

Adam and I

Natalie and Michael's wedding was July 30th. I was in the wedding so Adam met me there. It turned out beautifully and was a lot of fun. Busy busy 2 days, but still alot of fun.

The bride and I.

The weekend after Adam and I drove to Iowa City for a wedding of his old roommate. Adam was an usher so we had to get down there on Friday for the rehersal. It was a long drive to do over the weekend. We met his friend Mark in Rochester and he became our car buddy. We ended up staying in a travel lodge, where the door handle came off and all the reviews I read made it sound like a pit, not too bad, but not ideal. We brought Chance with us, so you can only imagine how it was!

Adam and I at the reception.

We went out after the rehersal dinner to a bar near where we were. It was alot of fun to hang out with everyone.

Mark, Adam and I at the rehersal dinner.

We have 3 more weddings this Summer, so it will be busy! Adam leaves to go to India for 2 1/2 weeks in the middle of September for work, so I'll be with bothe puppies. I'm going to miss him being gone for that long. We're hanging out this weekend in town actually, will be nice for a change. Valley fair with my family and hopefully the State Fair with some friends. Have a fun Labor Day!!

Lot's to share

I know, I know, it's been a while since the last post. So here I am updating, and what better way then through pictures! July has/will be a month of weddings. Natalie's bachlorette party kicked off the 2nd weekend in July. We went out for a nice dinner in downtown, hit up a few bars and then headed back to my place for some more bachlorette fun!

Robyn and I enjoying "The Local" bar

The bachlorette at dinner

My friend from, well forever, Katie got married. Her wedding was gorgeous (but when you have a couple this gorgeous of course it would be. Check out her pictures here on her blog http://simplelovemn.blogspot.com/2011/07/7811.html

Her wedding reception was the Nicollet Island Pavilion, which is where I used to office with my old company, Mintahoe. It was fun to see a bunch of my old co-workers and staff that I worked with at the wedding!

High school girls at the wedding

My Love :)

Adam and the boys fishing

We were able to make a quick trip up to Adam's grandma's trailor she has on a lake in Wisconsin and got some fishing in. We fished all day and only caught one fish (which adam caught). The dogs were the more entertaining part. Chance thought the bobber was a toy and would jump off the side of the pontoon to swim after it and try to get it...that wasn't the smartest because then he couldn't get back up into the boat, so Adam would have to left him in. Made for an amusing afternoon.

My friend Natalie's wedding is this coming weekend, so I'll be getting ready for that. I took Friday off to go get my nails done, hang out and get ready for the rehersal. I'm signing "God Bless the Broken Road" in the wedding so I've got to keep practicing that, getting a little nervous for it. Then we have a wedding in Iowa City in 3 weeks for Adams friend (he's the usher in it), then 2 more weddings this fall. Gotta love wedding season!

This last weekend was a busy one for me at work. The foundation part of Starkey had their 11th annual So the world may hear Gala to raise money to give people around the world hearing aids. It was an experience, that's for sure. I worked, Friday, Saturday and Sunday so I'm exhausted now. I was able to meet some pretty fun people though. We had Reba McEntire, Garth Brooks, Miley Cyrus, Kevin Costner, Meatloaf and John Rich perform at teh gala. The girls and I on the events team were in charge of the green rooms and back stage of the gala so it was fun to see all of the celebs. It was star studded at the gala and the parties the days before, with many athletes (to which I didn't recognize alot of them), Whoopi Goldberg, Gary Beausy (crazy guy, he sat down and chatted with us at the hotel on Friday night-asked me to make gutteral noises with him, while he and his girlfriend honked like geese-maybe the drugs talking?). haha anyways, it was a for a great cause and we raise 7.2 million dollars in one night! Check out the link below to see pictures from all of the events of the weekend.

Off to skype with Adam (he's in Nashville for work for the week), then it's off to bed for me for an early night, worked from 7am-2am yesterday at the Gala then worked all day at the office!

I know I know, it's been a while since the last post. So here I am updating what's been going on.

Hiatus

Yikes! Long hiatus from the blog. I think everytime I set a goal of blogging more I fail miserable. Failed attempt again. From now on I don't think I'll set a goal of blogging more, just enjoying life and remembering to blog about it when I can. Because my ever so wise Grandma's both told me they like to keep up with things via my blog. Funny how technology can change means of communication.

Wow, since the last blog alot has happened. Chance is settling in great. It's like he was meant to be a part of our "family". Even though he's technically Adam's dog, I still stake a little claim in him. Him and Tuck get a long really well. Now I just wish they had a big yard to run around in. One day....ahhh my wishful house wanting dreams!

Adam and I went to Florida in May to my parents new house right out side of Ft. Myers. It was a great time. Perfect place to relax and enjoy the sand, sun and eachother's company. We got to do some fun things while down there, my favorite part, kyaking in the ocean and a real Manitee swam up next to our boat! So cool, unbelievably big, but rediculously cool for them to be in their habitat and see them, and not in a zoo! We swam by the pool, checked out some local restaurants and enjoyed the site on Sanibel Island. I can see that being a yearly getaway!

In June my mom sister and I traveled to Milwaukee with some family friends, Sue and E Pape. We had a great "girl" time. We did some shopping, went to a comedy show, toured the Miller brewery and then went to the main attraction, the Michael Buble concert at the Bradly Center. Oh be still my heart, he is amazingly talented and a great live performer. He kept your attention the whole way through...not to mention made probably all the girls fall in love with him. I had a crush :)

Move along a few more weeks and we had our girls weekend down in Missouri with my mom's side of the family. It was a blast hanging out with my aunts, cousins and grandma. We went to the arch, a cute small town in St. Charles and a winery. Hopefully we can make this a yearly thing!

In between all of that we've been keeping busy. I don't think in the last 2 months I've had a weekend where I've had an entire day to just not to anything. We've made a few trips to Adam's grandma's cabin in Wisconsin for some fun (however the weather has yet to cooperate for us), a trip to Onalaska to visit his parents, and many nights trying to get together with friends. I recently just bought a grill of craigslist for $34, oh yea! So hopefully will be having some grill outs soon.

But man it's a busy summer, it's already July! wow, how life flies by. I looked my calendar for the rest of hte summer and I only have 2 weekends right now where something isn't planned. Between trips, weddings and work, it's a busy one! I'm looking forward to this weekend for some 4th of July fun. Fun boating on the lake at White Bear, Twins Game, grill outs, drinks with good friends and just alot of fun!

And the biggest news, I signed up to run 2 5K's! One in July and one in October, yikes! I've started me "couch potato to 5K" workout plan (I found it online), and have had 2 training days. It's gonna be hard, but will feel good to have accomplished when it's done! Wish me luck :)

Hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th of July weekend!!

Second Chance....

We got a puppy!! Well Adam got a puppy (but I like to claim he's half mine, I'm working on that, if you ask Adam it's his dog). He's a 7 year old yellow lab mix (we're not sure what he's mixed with because he's smaller). He weighs about 45 lbs. We went home to my mom and dad's last weekend for Easter and as we were running errands I suggested we stop by the Woodbury Humaine Society. Sometimes I just like to look at the pups. And we walked in and Chance was the first dog we saw and we fell in love. He's so good. He was a stray they found in River Falls. Not sure how no one would claim this little guy, but he was someone's at one time because he was neutered when they found him. And he knows sit and stay and for the most part is potty trained. We just have to get him used to our houses. We love him! Adam was all smiles (actually said he had more butterflies about going to pick him up than meeting me! haha).

The real question was how he and Tucker were going to be with each other (since they're basically brothers). Well, no worry there, they love each other. They have endless energy where they just run around and play. They are both attention hogs though. If I'm petting Tucker, Chance jumps on me and tries to get pet and vice versa. It's funny. I do think Tuck is a little jealous, I took today off to wait for my new stove to be delivered and he hasn't left my side! Needs some mommy time!

Attached to my hip today!

Chance and Adam on the First day we got him

Tuck and Chance's first meeting, such good boys!

Just missing Tuck in this pictures

So yes, we are dog people now, but I love it!

Appreciate

Well today started out, different I guess. My friend at work sent us an e-mail this morning about a girl she knew in high school. It was this story about how he boyfriend had just died, suddenly at their house. She's my age, her boyfriend right around the same. He had a brain anurysm and stroke. She watched it, recalled everything that had happened from the morning they woke up until Friday night when he got a head ache, paramedics came and then he was just gone. It's just heartbreaking and makes you really take a look at your own life. Things like this can happen at the drop of a hat. I never want to be that person recalling the last moments like that, but you really just never know. So many times I am looking into the future, what am I doing tomorrow, this weekend, in 2 months in 2 years. When will I get married, have kids, etc. But what if that never came? You have to live in every minute of every day and never wish away days even if they seem crappy or bad, and wish for another new one to come. It's life and we're lucky to have the day to wish for other things. So I'm going to try really hard to not get caught up in all of that and try to live as best I can in very minute, and not ever leave anything unsaid. Tell everyone I love them as much as I can, see and do the things I hope to do, and never wish away another day. Because what if it just was your last. So that's my challange, not to sweat the small stuff. Kind of depressing, but it always takes something like that to throw your life into perspective, and I hope that we all can do that.

Afternoon Walk

Look at the little peanut I spent the afternoon with enjoying a great walk in this nice weather!

I'm on a roll

Well if you visited the blog yesterday it looked totally different. Today I decided I wanted to change it again. Google is my best friend....I would never know how to change any of this stuff if I hadn't googled how to do it. Now I keep finding new things I like to give my blog a face lift! Maybe by doing this it will actually make me blog more???? We'll see :) This week at work has been pretty easy. All my co-workers are gone..3 are in the Windy City for a trade show and one just left yesterday for Mexico with her boyfriend...hence the time to fix up my blog! I've been taking off a little early to run to LA fitness and get in a work out. Yesterday was a great day, I met my friend Jessie for dinner, a cute little new restaurant called Pizzaria Lola (Jessie and I interned together back about 4 years ago). Pizzaria Lola is owned by the sister of one of our bosses at our internship. She moved here from New York about a year ago with a dream to start up this pizza restaurant. It was really cute and the pizza was yummy. I think I was just in such a good mood because, I was having pizza, beer, and great conversation with a friend on a BEAUTIFUL day. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and I didn't see any SNOW! It's really unbelieveable how much warm weather and the sun shining can be such a mood changer. It just makes me so happy to know Summer is coming. Even though the Summer this year will be jam packed with stuff (mostly fun stuff though), I'm ready for it to be here!

And an even better sign Summer is just around the corner....BASEBALL IS HERE!!! The Twins home opener is tomorrow, and it even looks to be a nice day around 60 degrees....oh how I wish I was joining the crowd at Target Field tomorrow!

I definitely have a case of Spring/Summer Fever! :)

Revamp

Well I thought after 2 years of this blog it needed a little revamp. And you wouldn't believe this took me almost all day...ahh I got a little frustrated because it wasn't doing what I wanted it to, so for now, this is as good as it's gonna get! I decided to give it a new name, since it's not all about just Tuck and I anymore, it's about everything in my life. So I took to using my best friend "Google" to come up with a new blog name. Yes, I literally typed in "how to name your blog". haha. And some ideas did pop up. One I liked was to take the street you live on and put it with a song you like. So this is how Emerald Road was created....Emerald Street is the road I love on, and God bless the broken road is one of my favorite songs....And putting them together not so sure Emeral broken or Emerald Bless worked out so well...so the obvious choice was Emerald Road. Who knows, tomorrow I may change my mind...but for today it stays.

And so the business begins...

Yikes....Summer hasn't even hit yet and I can't believe how fast it's filling up! I was going through weekends the other day to see what I had open to help throw a bridal shower/bachlorette party for my friend Natalie and I came up with a list of like 3...yikes! Between weddings, vacations, and work there's not a whole lot of time open. I'm hoping to have a few weekends where there are no plans and I can just be lazy and soak up the summer sun! Here's to hoping busy summer weekends doesn't make for it going by too fast!!

It's all in the pictures...

It's been quite a few weeks and what better way to update than with pictures! I am missing pictures from Lucy's baptism because I forgot my camera :( Hopefully I can swipe some from abs! Anyways this week I am dog sitting/house sitting for my parents. Been a little challenge with 2 dogs, plus shasta is sick, but getting better. Had a scare a few weeks ago with her getting really sick, the vets didnt' even think she'd make it, but shes on the mend, fingers crossed! I have to give her medicine twice a day though so it's been a bit of a challenge. Adam came over both days and helped out. We grilled pork chops today (a story to tell about those at another time), they were yummy, went to Church this morning, and we went for a run with tucker...and I don't run. It was interesting ,we went 1.17 miles and adam told me he'd split a dairy queen blizzard with me if I ran it, so I did. Struggled, but did it! I just kept coughing and wheezing, so either i'm not over bronchitus or i'm starting to think I may have athletic induced asthma. May have to go to the doctor about that becuase I would really like to start running more. I have a bridesmaid dress I need to fit in in July so I've started "operation fit in bridesmaid dress" haha. So far it's coming along ok. Anyways, wanted to share a few photoes from the last few weeks!

Adam's packer b-day cake I made him....just wait there's a suprise inside.
I took him out to Fogo de Chau for his birthday, thank you restaurant week for making an expensive meal a little more affordable!
Ta-da the suprise....I couldn't make something packers with out throwing in some Viking Pride...purple and yellow cake on the inside!
My beautiful roses I got for Valentine's day :)

Nic and I hanging out with Shasta when she was so sick :(

Off to bed :) It's a new day tomorrow and supposed to be warmer! yay spring is on it's way!

Happy Birthday!

It was Adam's birthday this weekend. I took him to Fogo de Chau on friday night for a dinner. It was so much food! It's the restaurant that where they bring around all kinds of meat to your table and they just keep giving you some until you don't want any anymore. Needless to say, we were extremely full at the end of the night! I made him a green bay packer cake, best part of it was I made the 2 layers of the cake on the inside purple and yellow....can't not have my Vikings in there somewhere :)

Sunday was Lucy's Baptism. It was a wonderful servie and reception and she was such a good baby! Just snuggled with her daddy the whole time and didn't even cry. I just can't get enough of here :) Hopefully I'll get to see them this weekend!

Adam is still working long hours, from 8 am-10pm every week night, then works Saturdays. I'm hoping soon it slows down and we can actually hang out during the week again!

I already can't wait for it to be the weekend...need my time off :)

Happy Valentine's Day

Valentine's day is kind of a weird holiday....when you're single it sucks and is just another reminder of just how single you really are...trust me I've spent many a valentine's day with a big bin of ice cream, or wine, watching sappy love movies and feeling sorry for myself. Some years my girlfriends and I would get all dressed up and go out for a nice Valentine's dinner (sometimes those were the best valentine's days). There's no rule for who you choose to be your valentine!

This year I had 2 Valentines...Adam came over on Sunday (after we had had a bit of a fight, or really I was just annoyed with him), and we showed up with a big boquet of flowers for me. Beautiful red, yellow and pink roses, which he pointd out that each color meant something (or at least that's what the lady at the store who sold them to him told him). Red is love, yellow is joy and pink was for friendship. I thought it was cute he took the time to tell me that. Then he said he had a card for me. I start reading it and one line says "i like it when you rub my belly" and I was fairly confused, until I opened it up and it was a valentine from Tucker :) Adam had gotten it from him and even had him lick the envelope. Made my heart melt, I think that could have been my only Valentine's gift and I would have been the happiest person. On the actual Valentine's day Adam had made reservations at McCormick and Schmicks, a great steak and seafood restaurant. We got there around 8pm and had some wine, great food and fabulous conversation. It was just fun to go out on a nice date. We were going to see a movie afterwards but got kind of tired. Went home and exchanged small gifts and ate some homemade red velvet cupcakes I made (so good)! I couldn't have asked for a better Valentine's day or better Valentine's :) What would I do with out my boys!

I'm Backkkkkkkkkkkk!

Just a quick note to say that I'm back! I got home really early on Wednesday morning, around 12:30am. Mom and dad picked me up and I've been staying at their place for a few days. The last couple days in Vegas I had felt just awful, so I went right to the doctor, and had a sinus infection and bronchitus. So I've been trying to recoop. Today I'm heading back to my place, got some cleaning and just reaclimating to my world again for the weekend! I don't think Tuck will know what to do, living with my parents for the last 3 weeks and Adam for 1...he's not sure what he'll do in his house again!

When I get more time, I'll write some more! Have a great day...stay warm, it's freezing out there!

Baby Lucy!!!

My best friend Abbey had her baby yesterday, my precious god daughter Lucia Louise Feldkamp. She was 7 lbs. 13 oz and 21 inches long. I'm so sad I wasn't there at the hospital. The poor girl went through over 40 hours of labor, so I was getting updates from her husband Justin the whole time. Finally got the text that she was here!!!! She's just beautiful. Hopefully I can post some pictures soon, unfortunately i'm here in Vegas and don't have any :( But I will be home next Thursday for a few days break and will hopefully get to see her then!!

Picture is of us another night at our night club event (we have this every 3 days with new customers, we rent out one of the clubs here at the Wynn)

In other news, it's been an interesting week her in Vegas. About a week ago I was working and all of a sudden got the stomach flu. So I spent a day and a half in my room, sicker than a dog. Not fun in a hotel room, that's for sure. Got better and worked some more, then yesterday came down with a cold. So Vegas is not treating me so well! I am excited that my boss gave us each a few days to go home to re-charge and to come back. Luckily when I go home, I will come back and only have 4 more days until it's all over and I'm home for good! I can't wait, I miss everyone at home so much!!! Work has been going very well though, the waves of clients have all been pleased, so at least the long days are paying off! I did meet Steve Forbes the other day, he was our guest speaker, got a nice picture with him! Tomorrow we get to go to the Garth Brooks concert at the Wynn...Excited about that!

Vegas

Thought I would try and update a bit. It's been a crazy 10 days, I don't even think I've left the hotel more than a few times. Working 16 hour days. I get up at 6 am, go down to the ballrooms we're using and deal with the customers all day, setting up, stuffing packets, figuring out break outs, making sure class is running smoothly and then running the evening events. Get back to my room aroun 11 and crash...and do it again! So my body is starting to hate me it's so exhausted.

Luckily yesterday was our first day off since the 3rd. We got manicures and pedicures at the Wynn Spa (the hotel we're staying at), then went to a nice dinner in a stretch dinner that the VP of sales and marketing for Starkey wanted to take us to. The girls and I then went to the show KA last night...it wasn't the best. Hoping to see another one before we leave.

I was trying to update this all the time, but as usual not getting to it so fast. The time difference is screwing me up a bit! When I'm done I just want to call back to MN but it's 2 hours later and usually everyone is sleeping :( I miss home...some days more than others but i'm usually so busy all the time it's hard to even have time to think about it. Onto another day!
