Well Tucker finally came in handy last night.....one reason I wanted to get a bigger dog is because, well I basically live by myself, and if you know me, I'm scared of pretty much everything. So instead of paying some security company, I got Tuck. Little did I know he would be the biggest scardy cat of all and act just like a big teddy bear, wanting to lick and say hi to everyone that comes near him.
So last night I'm at Target, which is in St. Paul, and granted it's not one of the best areas, but it's a super Target, so I like going there. I decided to take Tucker with and have him stay in the car, while I went shopping. So I'm pushing my cart back out to my car and I use the little button on my key chain to pop my trunk to put my bags into. Well of course Tuck hears this and pops right up, and puts his front 2 paws on the back ledge and squishes his face to look out the back window and try to watch my put my bags away. As I'm doing this an African American man with his hat turned to the side, his pants hanging half way down his body and a big gold chain around his neck walks up to me and says:
"Excuse me, Excuse me, how did you get so beautiful".
So I akwardly laugh and say thank you as I proceed to load my bags. I dont' know why some people are just so bold, but really what am I supposed to say to that. He proceeds to talk to me and finally I get done loading everything into the trunk and close it. He then sees Tucker, staring at us out the back window (it was hilarious, the way he was perched up looking), and the guy backs away and goes "Whoa, that's a big dog". It was priceless. So he walks away and gets about 10 feet when he turns around and says "baby, I can protect you" to which I say "no thanks, I've got him" get in my car and drive away! Little did the guy know, all he had to do was show Tucker a Vaccuum and he'd run away and hide...nice protector I've got!
Really, I don't get why some people have such nerve to just go up to someone and say something like that. But Tuck finally came in handy and got me out of that akward situation! Good boy :)
The trip to Meixco was great, when I have more time, I'll write some more about that, but for now I'm still trying to play catch up with all my work, so I'm off to answer some more e-mails!
I would find another Target Jen---especially at night. that wasn't only rude---it was kind of scary---be careful hon and give Tuck an extra treat for protecting you. Grams
