All in a days work.....

***Warning, this story is 100% true****

So this is going to be random, but weird things always happen to me, and I have plenty of people to vouch for me....crazy follows me. Anyways, I finally get into the office today and I get a call back from a client of mine who wants me to come and meet him to check out the site that my event is at next week (it's a corporate luncheon). Now the reason that I say weird things happen to me is about to be explanined. The event is not at someone's office or one of our venues, it's at a Hmong Funeral Home. Now that really should say it all, but I'm not finished. So he proceeds to tell me that he can't make it but he'll give me the lock box code and I can just let myself in and look at the site where the lunch will happen.

Wow...now if anyone knows me, and many of you know me all too well, I'm scared of EVERYTHING. Yes, everything, I'm a 24 year old scardy cat. Well, at the top of my list of things that scare me, that's right, dead people. I know it's an irrational fear, but ever since I've been little going to funerals and seeing dead people (even in movies), freaks me out. For some reason I think they are going to come alive and jump right out of the casket. I even have nightmares when I see them. (side note-when the Pope died, I dreamt about him for a week straight, where he was in my room haunting me or my family and I were at his "viewing" and all of a sudden he jumped out of the glass box he was in and started yelling things at my mom). Weird and pathetic....I know!

So anyways, I finally get the nerve to let myself in (mind you it's completely dark in there), and I can't find the lights so I stumble around thinking I'm going to walk into the wrong room and see all these dead people, when I finally find the room I need and get the floor plan drawn for the event. Right when I'm about to leave my client shows up and asks if I found everything I need. I told him I did, and he then decides to ask if I would like a tour of the entire facility (I believe you all know what that means).....

Heck no, I don't want to take a tour of the facility, I will really never sleep if I do that. So I politely told him I had another meeting to go to and left. :)

The things that make life interesting!

Oh yea and as I was driving back to work I drove by a small restaurant that had a sign posted out front that said "Lunch Buffet today" in big bold letters, then under it, it said "No Vomiting"....haha what!?! I'm thinking they should invest in some new marketing pieces.

  1. Oh Jenni, crazy does follow you! I think it's because you are nice enough and open enough to let it roll of you & keep going! All the rest of us would break down! The things we do at that job...I tell ya.
